The Natural Estrogen Diet & Recipe Book
Second Edition Edition
by Lana Liew M.D.
, Linda Ojeda Ph.D.
Breaking news from the National Institute of Health warns of the dangers of menopausal and postmenopausal women taking synthetic hormone replacement therapy (HRT). This has caused the estimated 13.5 million women using HRT to treat symptoms such as hot flashes or to prevent osteoporosis and heart disease to look for natural alternatives.
A woman’s diet is critical to maintaining overall health during her lifetime. During and after menopause, however, a sensible diet is even more critical to ensuring her continued health.
The Natural Estrogen Diet and Recipe Book explains how women can manage menopausal symptoms and make healthy, delicious food a permanent part of their lives. The book is divided into two parts. Part One discusses up-to-date research findings relevant to women’s health as well as information on phytoestrogens (plant estrogens) and how they can alleviate the symptoms of menopause and promote a woman’s health. Part Two provides over 100 recipes the whole family can enjoy. Chapters include the following:
* Integrating Natural Estrogens Into Your Life
* Appetizers, Snacks and Pick-Me-Ups
* Salads, Side Dishes and Main Courses
* Pancakes, Breads and Muffins & Desserts
Complete with a glossary and resource section, The Natural Estrogen Cookbook is the answer for women who have learned of the potentially negative effects of HRT and are seeking to mitigate their menopausal and postmenopausal symptoms in a completely safe, effective and natural way.
